Chapter 5 Review

1.  Entrepreneurs look for new ideas everywhere.

2.  Experienced business people get information from the connections they have made in whatever industry they've worked their way up through.

3.  The difference between invention and innovation is that invention is the creation of a product of a process for the first time and innovation is when someone improves on or makes a significant contribution to something that has already been invented.

Trademark: is a recognizable sign, design or expression which identifies products or services of a particular source from those of others.

Brainstorming: is a group or individual creativity technique by which efforts are mad to find a conclusion for a specific problem

Patent: is a set of exclusive rights granted by a sovereign state to an inventor or assignee for a limited period of time in exchange for detailed public disclosure of an invention

Right brain: is the side of the brain that focuses more on creativity, imagination, intuition, feelings and daydreaming

Intellectual property: is a legal term that refers to creations of the mind

Left brain: is the side of the brain that focuses more on logic, analyzing,  sequencing, math and language

6.  White hat: facts, information, research

Red hat: feeling, hunch

Black hat: logical, negative

Yellow hat: logical, positive

Green hat: creative, new ideas

Blue ideas: organizer, manages

Facebook Assignment

1.       Mark is most passionate about coding he is willing to sacrifice a lot in pursuit of his goals.
2.       He got in trouble because he took private pictures of the students and used them for FaceMash.
3.       Hes not in it for the money hes in it because hes likes what he does.
4.       This idea was unique because it was exclusive.
5.       His motivation was to create a website that was different than all the other social network sites.
6.       Mark and Eduardo were best friends their friendship broke down because Mark screwed Eduardo out of Facebook.
7.       Mark got the idea when of his coders asked him if a girl in Marks class was single.
8.       Mark doesnt want to put ads on Facebook because he thinks that will make Facebook uncool  think he made the right choice.
9.       He expands the site to other schools after he talks to his ex-girlfriend at a restaurant Ericas role in this is that hasnt heard of Facebook which makes Mark want to expand.
10.   Some people are drawn to this because they feel that the internet is a safe place to vent about all their problems.
11.   The typed word is so powerful because once its on the internet its there forever its tempting to misuse this power because its an easy way to say bad things about people you dont like.  When social networks are used to their full potential they can be used for positive thing like charities.
12.   Sean Parker was the creator of Napster.
13.    Coolness and money play a big role in the movie.   I think some people wouldn't care and others would feel wronged or violated.
14.  It encourages us to define ourselves as our own person.
15.  Mark used the comment section on Facebook to cheat on his exam.
16.  The fact that Mark expanded internationally convinced them to sue.
17.  He was right to mistrust Sean because Sean was a party animal.  He is pushed out of the business by signing contracts that get rid of his shares if a new investor is introduced.
18.  I think the film makes Mark look like an asshole.  I think he only partial stole the idea.
19.  My experience with Facebook is good I really just use it to get my news.
20.  It's made us able to communicate worldwide.

21.  I thought the film was good.  My response to Mark was that he was a genius and an asshole.

1.  He uses flyers, then he announces it at church and then he made a commercial.

6.  Yes because if he let Barney die he would have been the reason that his best friend died.

Knowing that you have to work for things if you want to get them makes me want to work harder than if I knew that I could go through life without having to face any struggles I wouldn't be inspired to do anything
